School Counselor Letters of Recommendation

Letter of Recommendation from your Counselor

Some colleges do not require recommendations. Some colleges require a specific number of recommendations from specific sources (i.e., one teacher or the counselor) It is NOT in the student's best interest to submit more recommendations than requested. With a very high volume of applications, admissions committees do not have time to read repetitive letters! Recommendation letters are confidential and are not shared with the student or parent.

The first step in getting a great recommendation from your counselor is to fill out the Senior Questionnaire. Answering these questions allows counselors to write thorough, thoughtful letters to the colleges and universities that request them. The PDF is fillable. Save it first before responding then email to your counselor at least 30 days prior the college deadline.
