Global Classmates Program

Japanese students have been participating in the Global Classmates program, a grant-covered virtual cultural and language exchange for high school students in the U.S. and Japan. Our upper level Japanese classes have paired up with one English class at a high school in Japan and regularly communicate through a secure and monitored educational website. Students exchange messages, photos and videos weekly. Recently, they exchanged presents and letters with each other and could enjoy actual Japanese products.

Japanese classes participated in the Table for Two: World Food Day Campaign 2018. Students made onigiri (rice balls), took a photo, and posted the photo on the Onigiri Action website or their social media with #OnigiriAction. Every time students did this, 5 school meals were delivered to children in need around the world.
