Counselor's Letter of Recommendation
Some colleges do not require recommendations. Some colleges require a specific number of recommendations from specific sources (i.e., one teacher or the counselor) It is NOT in the student's best interest to submit more recommendations than requested. With a very high volume of applications, admissions committees do not have time to read repetitive letters! Recommendation letters are confidential and are not shared with the student or parent.
The first step in getting a great recommendation from your counselor is to fill out the Senior Questionnaire. You should have access to a Google form version through Naviance Student, and the same questions are available in PDF form below. Answering these questions allows counselors to write thorough, thoughtful letters to the colleges and universities that request them. Once you have filled out the Senior Questionnaire, print it and hand it in (or email it) to your counselor.
