1) What have you learned about yourself since the COVID-19 closures?

In light of the COVID-19 closures, I have learned that I am not a fan of virtual learning. While already taking an online dual enrollment class, I never would imagine that all my classes would take place virtually. I learn best with hands-on experiences and face-to-face instruction. I really do miss being at school.

2) What are your plans for the fall?

I plan to attend Penn State University in the fall to major in Biology on the Pre-Medicine track and minor in Applied Psychology.

3) How have your plans changed, if at all?

My plans have not changed drastically. However, it will be difficult to attain important enrollment information from my college, as well as, visit the campus itself during the summer. Hopefully, the current COVID-19 situation subsides soon and does not affect the 2020-21 school year.

4) What has been your biggest disappointment/hardship since schools have been closed for the remainder of the academic year?

My biggest hardship since schools have been closed for the rest of the year is not being able to see and reconnect with my closest friends and teachers. We are all stuck in a state of isolation and can only rely on technology to communicate with each other. It is definitely an approach I never thought we'd use long-term, but it's better than nothing.

5) What is your passion?

My passion is to promote the growth of a stronger community through service and helping those in need.

6) Have you discovered a new passion in light of social distancing?

In light of the social distancing policies, I have discovered that I have a newfound passion for cooking delicious meals from online cookbooks and baking sweet desserts.

7) What are your hopes for the future?

In the future, I hope to have a career in the healthcare industry and give back to my community through the power of service and medicine.

8) What are you most proud of about your school experience/best memory?

I am most proud of my accomplishments at the Virginia HOSA State Leadership Conferences.
