Important Opening School Forms & Information

August 10, 2018

Welcome to Falls Church High School and the 2018-2019 school year!  We are preparing to open school on August 28, 2018 with approximately 2,150 students in grades 9-12. We will be sending home the SR&R booklet and extracurricular agreement the first week of school and both require a parent/guardian signature. We are looking forward to working with you toward a productive and successful school year.

In an effort to conserve paper and manpower, Falls Church High School will open “virtually” this year. Please remember each form must be filled out for each individual child who is attending FCHS for the 2018-19 school year.

Multiple ways to complete the forms:

The necessary forms are available below as well as loaded on your child’s one-to-one laptop. The school will be open and available to help complete paper forms Tuesday, August 21 - Friday, August 24th 8am-1pm. The best time to come is during Jaguar Kickoff 5-6:30pm in the cafeteria on Thursday, August 23rd. If you decide to complete paper forms and print at home, your child should give them to his/her Jag 8 teacher the first week of school. After that, forms should be delivered to the main office.

Students need “tie” running style shoes and socks as well.

Attendance Reminders

School begins promptly at 8:10 a.m. and ends at 2:55 p.m. Please use the 24/7 Hour Attendance Line - 703-207-4019. Visit our website for details. You’ll find information about arriving late, leaving early, and what constitutes an excused absence. The automated system that contacts parents for absences goes out at 10:30am and 4:15pm. If you believe you were notified incorrectly, contact your child’s school counselor for clarification. Although the FCHS Academy is in the same building, all Academies have their own attendance system and it’s best when you call in an absence that you contact both the base school and Academy.
